Increasing Local Visibility & Customer Appointments for a Beauty Salon Through Digital Marketing

Driving Local Customer Acquisition Through Social Media Marketing, Local SEO & Google Business Profile Optimization

Industry Beauty & Wellness
Project Type Local Marketing & Customer Acquisition
Role Digital Marketing Executive / Performance Marketing Specialist (Agency Side)
Agency Big Frame Media

Project Overview

As part of my role at Big Frame Media, I managed digital marketing activities for a local beauty salon offering professional beauty, skincare, haircare, and wellness services.

The objective was to strengthen the salon’s online presence, improve local visibility, attract nearby customers, and generate appointment enquiries through an integrated local marketing strategy.

The marketing approach combined Meta Ads, Instagram marketing, Local SEO, Google Business Profile optimization, content marketing, and marketing analytics to improve customer engagement while increasing appointment enquiries from customers within the target service area.

Unlike e-commerce businesses, beauty salons rely heavily on local visibility, trust, customer reviews, and visual content to attract new customers. The strategy therefore focused on showcasing services, building brand credibility, and encouraging appointment bookings.

Business Objectives

The project focused on helping the salon increase local awareness and generate consistent appointment enquiries.

Primary objectives included:

  • Increase local brand awareness
  • Improve Google Business Profile visibility
  • Generate appointment enquiries
  • Increase Instagram engagement
  • Improve customer retention
  • Strengthen online reputation
  • Increase website traffic

About the Business

  • Hair Colouring
  • Hair Treatments
  • Bridal Makeup

  • Manicure & Pedicure
  • Spa Services
  • Beauty Packages

The business primarily served customers within its local community, making location-based marketing essential.

Business Challenges

Highly Competitive Local Market

The beauty industry is highly competitive, with numerous salons competing for local customers. Improving visibility required a strong presence across Google Search, Google Maps, Instagram, and Facebook.

Local Customer Behaviour

Most customers searched using location-based keywords such as: Beauty salon near me, Best salon in [City], Bridal makeup artist, Hair salon near me, Facial services, Spa near me. Appearing prominently in these searches was critical for customer acquisition.

Building Trust

Customers often compared reviews, ratings, before-and-after photos, and social media content before booking an appointment. The marketing strategy therefore emphasized credibility, visual storytelling, and customer engagement.

Appointment Generation

Rather than maximizing website traffic alone, the objective was to encourage qualified appointment enquiries and consultation requests.
